I’m John Carlan Sweatman, a San Antonio-based photographer and visual storyteller.

My work is rooted in curiosity, observation, and the belief that the most meaningful photographs often happen between the expected moments. I photograph people, creative work, businesses, events, companion animals, and everyday life with a natural, documentary-influenced approach. Shoot the moment as it were, not as it was staged.
